The SADC Business Forum is the first and one of the largest entrepreneurship, opportunity and investment events in the southern African region.The FNSADC is an initiative of SADC and the Government of Mozambique. It was assumed as a commitment to materialize, during the 40th Virtual Summit of Heads of State and Government of SADC, which took place in Maputo- Mozambique, on August 17, 2020, under the motto “SADC: 40 Years Building Peace and Security, Promoting Development and Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges ”. The Republic of Mozambique assumed the rotating Presidency of SADC for the years 2020-2021, during the 40th Virtual Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of SADC and which will have as one of the exponential moments also of economic promotion, the conventional Extraordinary Summit foreseen for March 2021.
It is intended and justified that what is foreseen as the SADC Business Forum, due to its size, content, projection, scope and externalities, is a Global Business Forum (active and partner participation of countries and regional blocs such as USA, European Union, Ireland, Turkey and multilateral and development organizations such as AfDB), with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (co-promoter and economic coordinator) in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs being responsible for its structured dynamism at the local level, national, regional and international.
The holding of the SADC Business Forum is part of the Integrated Operational Roadmap prepared and coordinated by MINEC which at the political-economic level has planned 19 meetings (between technical and Ministerial level) and strategically, follows a corporate approach of complementarity and maximization strategy of programs and mechanisms for promotion and economic support whose implementation is the responsibility of other Ministries and local Governments, which are, for example, local fairs, business promotion and distinction events, program launch events, business inauguration events, regional and international investment forums and conferences, among other events planned and to be held throughout the country.
The SADC Business Forum, in addition to achieving one of the objectives of the Mozambican presidency's operational agenda in promoting gains for the national business community in line with the approved and in use motto, is also a result of the strategic approach of economic diplomacy that has in view of economic disclosure, competitive development and the improvement of the country's trade balance (with an impact on the provinces of reference). The SADC Business Forum also materializes one of the strategic priorities of the current government cycle, as it is an approach that continues the development of the country (boosting Economic Growth, Productivity and Employment Generation), thus spilling over the horizon. of the SADC presidency and, intending to be part of a strategic action that, in the local, national, regional and global dimension, presents Mozambique especially as a reference country and at the forefront of the potential and effective economic growth and productivity of the southern region.
